Services in Ireland

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland currently provides some forums for people with dementia to talk about their diagnosis and to meet others living with the condition:

Contact our National Helpline.
If you would like to find out more about dementia, have information posted to you or would like to talk to someone, you can call our helpline. This is a free service and all calls are confidential. Call 1800 341 341. The Helpline is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
You can also email us with your questions and queries at Email helpline@alzheimer.ie

Visit our Social Clubs
There are currently three Social Clubs in Ireland for people with dementia and their loved ones. The Club is a social gathering once a week where people with dementia and a family member can drop in to chat and meet other people. The meeting is for around 2 hours.

Society staff support each club meeting and facilitate the needs of the group. It is a place to access information about your condition.

There is no charge to attend and tea and coffee is available. You and your family member or friend can call into the weekly club venue nearest to you or phone the contact listed in the Social Clubs page

Contact The Dementia Rights Advocacy Service
The service is for anyone who has or may have dementia and who lives in North Dublin, city and county. The aim of the service is to help people with dementia to effectively voice their needs and wishes, access their entitlements and assert their rights.

The advocates job is to be on the side of the person with dementia. The service is free, independent and confidential. Contact the Dementia Rights Advocacy Service

The Society hopes to expand our support structures for people with dementia and is campaigning to raise funds to allow us to do so.
