Old and Forgetful by Tracy (Aged 13)

An entry in the Alzheimer Hero Day Campaign ...

I once was a little girl,

Full of wit and woe.

Bringing joy and fun,

Everywhere I'd go.

But oh! How times have changed,

Now I'm old and forgetful.

I wake each morning.

I know I'm worse today than the day before.

The day, the week or ... maybe it's December.

My age now it's against me.

I'm getting old and weary.

But I thank God for the life I have had,

And glad he is near me.
