Mystery Singer Revealed!

Following the "big reveal" at the opening of the Charity You're a Star 2007 competition, The Alzheimer Society is delighted to be represented by TV personality Nuala Carey and is wishing her a lotto, lotto luck.

Speaking after the first show, Maurice O'Connell Chief Executive Alzheimer Society of Ireland, highlighted the potential impact of the says: "Unfortunately there is still a stigma surrounding Alzheimer's and dementia and that can lead to social isolation, depression and fear particularly for carers. In speaking about Alzheimer's openly Nuala will help others to understand more and to reach out to friends and neighbours who might be caring. As well as this, Nuala will raise much needed funds so that we can continue our vital work", he concluded.

The Society plans to use the monies raised through Charity You're A Star to provide dementia-specific services to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
